The Beauty in Urgency

So it's a week out until the big trip around Europe and i have come across a new perspective that has really changed how i have lived my last few weeks in Newcastle.

I like to call it ' the beauty in urgency'. I have come to realise how quickly we can change our lives not just minimally but radically. As you all know and have experienced, it seems us humans restrict ourselves from being open due to fear of being put in challenging or uncomfortable situations where we are unable to predict the outcome.

I lost my job 6 weeks out from my departure date with no explanation what so ever and within 3 days i packed my bag and headed to Sydney to find work. Within a week after countless interviews and trials i had landed myself a full time barista job.

That was the beginning of this new attitude where i soon welcomed myself to the Sydney lifestyle, and yes just to add to this new life i decided to give eating vegetarian a go. Moving out of home and away from friends was a lot more challenging than i had anticipated, but nothing prepares you more for travelling than a 'pre-change of scenery'. Days were adventurous, dinners were basic and nights were lonely but i liked different .

This then led me to the idea that we can be anywhere in the world within 24 hours so therefore we can completely change our lives literally within ONE day. You can quit your job, buy a van, travel the coast, smoke a doubie(not that i encourage it), get lost in the city, cut your hair really short, open your house to couchsurfers (travelers seeking a free bed) or smile at each person you walk past, the list is endless... but let me tell you a little confidence goes a long way and no matter how little the gesture, if its outside YOUR norm than its doing you great.

Don't get caught up in comfort!
