München My Way Through Munich

How high could spirits be after a 14 hour bus trip from a city you hated? The answer was quite low but when getting dropped off at 10pm I was instantly dazzled by this city and it's vibe. Until I realised I had to find my Great Aunts house from a measly few screenshots mum had sent me from google maps and on top of that no taxi drivers wanted to take me.. I have officially found workers lazier than my Sunday afternoons.
If there is one thing I learnt from Paris it's that I CANT READ MAPS. This realisation came at my decision to go discovering 'must sees' at 8pm from a map given to me at my hostel. Long story short I ended up in a scum area with young black boys wolf whistling me and yelling out things in French in which I had no hope of understanding(which was probably better off).

Staying with my foreign family(in which I have never met before) has proved a harder task than I had anticipated since they cant speak English apart from my second cousins who have now subconsciously become my translators. They have given me the local insight and with that comes hopping around to countless grand churches and castles as well as a ride on their speed limitless roads punching 220km/hr toward the Alps
Germans are very conserved and well mannered but also one of the joyous most kind species alive so your safety is ensured in every aspect here, polar opposite to in Paris.

My lack of German language is not so much of a burden here but let me tell you these family outings and afternoon tea's make me feel as though I am a deaf mute. With absolutely no knowledge of the subject of table conversation I have found the greatest solution is to smile and nod especially when hearing my name. It's my second last day here in münchen and I have survived with this strategy for the last 5 days, it's not easy but I have survived.

Do's and Dont's of Munich
-Do take some drinks down and check out the Eisbach(watching surfers carve up the river).the river is extremely cold but some people swim other just tan on lush grass.
- Do go to the Berchtesgaden salt mine and do a tour, it is so incredible and they give you a salt crystal at the end for you the make a wish. It was a 2 hour drive from the centre of Munich but well worth it, plus you get to drive parallel to the stream in the first photo for most of the way.
-Dont wear Birkenstocks(the sandals) out and about as here they are only considered a house shoe. I made that mistake and was a little judged in the city.
